
UMass Lowell offers graduate and undergraduate degree programs in six different fields of engineering - Chemical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Plastics Engineering - and undergraduate degrees in three different fields in Engineering Technology - Civil, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering Technology. All bachelor’s degrees are ABET-accredited except the new program in Computer Engineering, which celebrated its first graduating class in spring 2004. Graduate programs exist in Energy Engineering as well as Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology.
The Francis College of Engineering has a distinguished reputation for hands-on, practice-oriented education, cutting edge research, and integrating service and research into education at all levels. The College has strong ties to local industry, with many companies and government agencies in the region offering co-op positions and internships to students in all disciplines of engineering.
