Thank you for visiting the Francis College of Engineering at UMass Lowell, an outstanding university that excels in both teaching and applied research.
UMass Lowell offers undergraduate engineering degree programs in seven different fields of engineering - Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering and Nuclear Engineering (option in Chemical Engineering) - and undergraduate degrees in three different fields in Engineering Technology - Civil, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering Technology. All bachelor’s degrees are accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). Graduate programs (MS, PhD and DEng) exist in Chemical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering and Energy Engineering. As well there is an intercampus MS/PhD program in Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology.
The Francis College of Engineering has a distinguished reputation for hands-on, practice-oriented education, cutting edge research, and integrating service and research into education at all levels. The College has strong ties to local industry, with many companies and government agencies in the region offering co-op positions and internships to students in all disciplines of engineering.
